Sandusky County has had a local chapter of People First since 2003. The group, made up of approximately 60 adult services enrollees, meets typically one time per month. The group, which is open to any interested adult enrollee, is a self-advocacy group. Self-advocacy includes making choices and decisions for yourself, suggesting changes, creating new ideas, and looking for ways to improve things for yourself and people with disabilities as a whole. Some things People First of Sandusky County have been involved in is voting on activities to be held, nominating representatives for certain events, and representing our local chapter at Statewide meetings.
