Our Quality Assurance area at the Sandusky County Board of Developmental Disabilities ensures that we operate within the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Development Disabilities Administrative and Accreditation Rules and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
Other services provided by our Quality Assurance dividion include Individual Quality Assurance Reviews and Provider Compliance Reviews.
Quality Assurance Reviews
Quality Assurance is a required process to ensure that individuals are emplowered to exercise choice and enhance the quality of their lives through the promotion of services, supports, and activities contributing to a valued lifestyle for the individual. Through personal interviews and documentation reviews, our Quality Assurance reviews consider the quality indicators of Health and Safety. The Quality Assurance review also considers the following quality indicators as applicable to the individual:

The Quality Assurance Coordinator performs Quality Assurance reviews in conjunction with the Service and Support Administration Department routine monitoring to ensure a continuous Quality Assurance process.
Provider Compliance Reviews
Provider Compliance Reviews are conducted as prescribed by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, or as result of a complaint, a Quality Assurance Review, or a Major Unusual Incident. All independent and residential providers who work with individuals receiving Individual Options (IO) Waiver and Level One Waiver services are subject to Provider Compliance Reviews to assure compliance with certification standards. The Quality Assurance Coordinator works with providers so that they meet all state mandated requirements.
