The Sandusky County Board of DD is always looking for volunteers to help in the
Sandusky County Special Olympics Program

It starts with the interest to become involved, either directly with the athletes or indirectly. Many of us have the talents to help with Special Olympics, but not the time. Or we have the time, but don’t feel especially athletic. Whatever your situation, Special Olympics has a place for you. You just need the desire/interest to ask.

There is a form from the state office that anyone interested in volunteering must fill out. It asks for general background information and for two references. Once your form is received and processed, a meeting is set to discuss your interests and availability. From direct “hands-on” coaching to behind the scenes with a camera or filing paperwork. Your time and efforts are definitely needed. Please inquire today!

There are no participation fees charged to the individual for competitions.  We rely on donations and volunteers from the community, as well as family members.  Competition is offered on the local, area and state level.  We are located in Area 4, which is comprised of 9 other counties in NW Ohio.
